Some writers do have blogs, but you would be surprised by how many don’t. Blogging is not only a skill that should be built up to enable writers to be able to write and sell blog posts to clients, it can help them too.

How indeed? Finding article buyers is a constant task for all freelance writers, whatever markets you aim for and whether they are online or off.

Whew – okay first of all I apologise for the long title! But this is something that people do search for and ask about, so I thought it warranted an answer.

People always say that earning money as a freelance writer is fraught with danger. You never know when your next job is coming in…

This thought occurred to me today as I was writing a batch of articles for a client. It was one of those jobs where you aren’t given any article titles to work from; they just give you a list of their best performing keywords and the rest is up to you. Well they say a change is as good as a rest, and that’s certainly what I’m having at the moment. I’ve lost count of how many eBooks I have written for various people this year (and I still have two on the go and three more slated to write for another client), so I felt it was time for a change and a swing back towards articles again.

You could reasonably finish all your work in the morning and have the whole afternoon free to kick back and relax if you wanted to, and yet the smaller amount of work still takes you all day to complete. But when you’re busy you can write so fast your fingers are fairly smoking at the end of the day.

It just occurred to me that I am fast approaching my six month anniversary of deciding to leave my full time job and write full time. My, the time has gone fast…
