Hi all – yes I’m back after a week off, and my first day has gone just about as well as I could have hoped.
I had some regular jobs that needed doing today, plus one other project to finish off, and I had two new projects come in during the day; one for ten articles and another for four e-books of varying lengths, all on topics I love.
I was expecting to be a bit rusty today – a bit slow, and not quite sure which end of the keyboard to tackle first – and I did probably half as much this morning as I would normally be able to get done. I soon picked up speed though and ended with half of those new articles completed faster than I thought.
How do you fare when you get back to writing after a break of some kind? It doesn’t matter whether you write part time or full time; any kind of break results in the same lethargic feeling when you get back Or does it? Maybe it’s different for you.
I’m expecting the weekend to be my best time, as I’ll be back into the swing of it by then. The usual week off did result in a huge pile of emails to deal with as soon as I arrived back at my desk, and although I was ruthless it still took some time to sort all that out. Any suggestions on how to do that little job even faster would be greatly appreciated!
So until next time, happy writing – whether you’ve just come back from holiday or not.
