Freelance writing online is an amazing profession. Okay I know I might be a teensy bit biased because this is what I do for a living.
Knowing how much you earn from your online writing (or any other writing you do, come to that) is exceptionally important.
Yes there has been a bit of a gap between this post and my previous one. But things have been busy on the writing front.
The more you know and understand about keywords and search engine optimisation, the more money you are likely to be able to make as an online writer.
I have tried one or two writing forums in the past and I have never personally got much out of them. I’m not sure whether I simply haven’t found the best ones, or whether I just prefer reading blogs and interacting with people on those.
This week I got my regular hub update email and I was pleasantly surprised by what I read there.

Many writers often point to magazine writing as being the best of the two. Online writing, they say, is badly paid. And that is certainly right if you pick the wrong jobs.
When you think about writing for online markets, what type of work do you think of?
I did today. Let’s face it, most of the writing jobs you find online tend to fall into the same groups over and over again. It’s not often you see a job asking for quizzes, so I applied.
Hmm, interesting question isn’t it? The answer will obviously depend on how much time you have available. But if you are writing web content for clients they will have their own ideas of how much you should be able to write and when it should be done by.
If you want to earn money by writing online you need to avoid the mistakes below. I’ve been guilty of some of these in the past, back when I didn’t know any better.
