Have you ever noticed that when you’re quiet on the writing front, you get slower? You could reasonably finish all your work in the morning and have the whole afternoon free to kick back and relax if you wanted to, and yet the smaller amount of work still takes you all day to complete. But when you’re busy you can write so fast your fingers are fairly smoking at the end of the day.
That’s what I’ve learned in the past week. I always assume that things will gradually start to pick up again after the quieter summer months, but once again it hasn’t happened that way. I was quiet on Sunday, and then all hell broke loose on Monday and emails started coming out of the woodwork from all different directions. Not that I’m complaining – it just fascinates me to see how everything always seems to happen at once.
It almost makes you nervous to go out and find any new work for fear that you’ll end up with too much of it! lol It’s all a learning curve of course, and I am still only in my eighth month of being a full timer, so I am still getting used to planning my days and working out just how much I can achieve.
How do you approach your website writing? Do you find more work to fill those gaps or do you take advantage of them to relax, knowing it will soon be busy again?
